Before You Decide…Know Your Why
Every decision you make has the potential to shape your future, which is why it's important to understand your why before taking the next step. Your "why" is the motivation behind your decision. It reveals whether you're moving from a place of purpose, peace, and conviction or from fear, pressure, hurt, or emotion.
Before making a major decision, ask yourself:
Why am I choosing this?
Does this align with my values and purpose?
Am I seeking God's direction or simply reacting to my circumstances?
When your why is clear, your decisions become more intentional. You may still face challenges, but you'll have a solid foundation to stand on when doubt or difficulty comes. A purpose-driven why gives you the strength to remain committed long after the emotions have faded.
As Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us, we are called to trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all our ways. When we invite God into our decision-making, He provides wisdom, clarity, and direction.
Before you make your next move, pause long enough to examine your why. It may be the difference between making a decision you'll simply survive and one that helps you thrive.
